Ryan Patrick Murphy (born November 9, 1965) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer. He is best known for creating and producing a number of television series, such as Nip/Tuck (2003–2010), Glee (2009–2015), American Horror Story (2011–present), Scream Queens (2015–2016), Pose (2018–present), 9-1-1 (2018–present), The Politician (2019–present), Lone Star (2020–present), and Hollywood (2020).

Netflix have shared the first photos from their upcoming musical dramedy, The Prom. Based on the critically-acclaimed Broadway play of the same name, the film follows four actors as they travel to to the conservative town of Edgewater, Indiana, to help a lesbian student (Jo Ellen Pellman), who has been banned from bringing her girlfriend to prom.
The four actors will be played by Meryl Streep as Tony Award winner Dee Dee Allen, Nicole Kidman as theatre veteran Angie Dickinson, Andrew Rannells as unlucky actor Trent Oliver, and James Corden as Barry Glickman, Dee Dee’s partner.
The star-studded cast also includes Ariana DeBose, Keegan-Michael Key, Kerry Washington, Kevin Chamberlin, Sofia Deler, Logan Riley Hassel, Mary Kay Place, Nathaniel
