Love Island 2019 winner Amber Gill addressed tweets where she appeared to come out, saying she did it “accidentally”. Gill took to Twitter in July and wrote: “Switching teams was the best decision I made in my life.” When a fan asked what kind of team she was referring to, the reality star quipped: “Google teams x.” She also said: “Watching men makes me feel ill I couldn’t put myself through it again.” The 25-year-old addressed the speculation on showbiz show Access All Areas.
Gill confirmed the tweets that announced her sexuality were an accident. “Accidentally, yeah. I remember looking at it [the tweet] and thinking, ‘S**t, what have I said?’” she explained. “Normally people have these lovely, beautiful stories and lovely, beautiful real Instagram posts, like just lush.
I’ve put ‘switching teams’ on a tweet and that’s how I came out!” Amber won the fifth series of Love Island with Greg O’Shea, but the relationship ended not long after the series wrapped.
