ban conversion practices that seek to try and change or suppress a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity has passed Victorian Parliament’s Upper House on Thursday.
This paves the way for its passage in the Parliament of the Bill that makes it illegal for anyone offer or subject some to or advertise conversion, to become the law in Victoria.
The Victorian Legislative Council passed The Change Or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Bill 2020 27-9, with bipartisan support from Labor, Green, Cross-bench and some Liberal MPsThe Bill was passed in the Lower House on December 10.
