As a result of a bomb threat connected to its gender-affirming care practice, Boston Children’s Hospital had to be evacuated for a third time this week.Police investigated the threat and found no bomb devices, according to the Boston Herald.“This morning, the hospital was again the target of a bomb threat,” a hospital statement released on Wednesday read.“Boston Police investigated and have given the all-clear that there is no active threat to the hospital,” the statement continued.“We will continue to work closely with law enforcement and hospital security teams, and we are grateful for their immediate response,” the medical center added. “We are committed to ensuring the hospital is a safe and secure place for all who work here and come here.

Antoni Porowski of Queer Eye fame announced on Thursday his engagement to his partner of three years, Kevin Harrington.Porowski, who is considered the food expert on Queer Eye, posted a blurry photo of him and Harrington on Instagram sharing the news.“I really hope the wedding photos are less blurry,” Porowski joked. What the Human Rights Campaign terms “Equality Voters” made the difference in holding back the expected “red wave” in this month’s midterm election, according to a new survey by HRC and polling firm GQR.“The 2022 election defied pre-election predictions of a massive red wave in no small measure because Equality Voters pushed back against extremism and voted to protect commonly held values and our democracy,” says a memo released by HRC and GQR. “Across the country, election deniers and right-wing social warriors lost winnable elections because they advocated views that are out-of-touch with average voters, particularly the huge number of Equality Voters who made the critical difference up and down the ballot.”Equality Voters are those who support LGBTQ+ equality, and HRC counts 62 million of them — 38 percent of the 2022 electorate. An appeals court in Australia earlier today set aside the conviction of the man who had pleaded guilty to the 1988 gay-bashing murder of an American citizen.Scott Phillip White, 52, had declared himself “Guilty! Guilty! Guilty!” of the murder of postgraduate mathematician Scott Johnson, then 27, at a pretrial hearing earlier this year. White was quickly convicted but soon appealed his decision and applied to withdraw his guilty plea, saying the unexpected courtroom declaration of guilt was made under duress.

A Nebraska school district has agreed to restart a school newspaper at Grand Island Northwest High School after it had dissolved the paper following a publication of an LGBTQ-themed issue over the summer.The teacher that had previously advised the student paper, the Northwest Viking Saga, said the publication would return this spring in digital form, the Associated Press reports.However, local rights groups say that isn’t enough.The former advisor, Kirsten Gilliland, said the role of advising the paper as well as teaching journalism at the school had been given to another teacher.The issue in question was the June 2022 year-end edition. It featured an article titled “Pride and Prejudice: LGBTQIA+,” which discussed the history of Pride Month and the origins of homophobia.

Rebel Wilson has opened up about being forced to come out not on her time but on the time of a journalist who, according to the actress, threatened to out her.The Pitch Perfect and Senior Year actor opened up about the circumstances surrounding her public announcement this summer that she was in a relationship with fashion designer Ramona Agruma. Speaking to The Australian, Wilson explained that she preemptively posted a snapshot on Instagram disclosing her relationship because journalist Andrew Hornery with the Sydney Morning Herald intended to publish Wilson’s intimate relationship details.In early June, she wrote, “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince … but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess.”She said she and Agruma didn’t hide their relationship, but the couple wanted to share the news at their own pace due to varying levels of family support.“Across our two families, not everybody is as accepting as what you’d hoped for, and we were trying to be respectful to those people and tell them in our own way,” Wilson told The Australian. “Basically, with the situation where a journalist is threatening to out you, you’ve got to hurry, and some people we didn’t get a chance to tell before it came out publicly.
