John Benjamin Hickey has announced his next role: that of an alcoholic priest living in a city that doubles as a haven for vampires in Salem’s Lot.Hickey, the star of such films as Sublet and Mapplethorpe will step into the pivotal role of Father Callahan in the new, big-screen remake of the Stephen King classic. In the novel Salem’s Lot, Callahan is an alcoholic Catholic priest struggling to comfort his town following the death of a local child, Danny Glick.
