Two black trans women, Dominique Lucious and Jaida Peterson, have become the 13th and 14th trans people to have been killed in the US this year. Peterson was dead found in a hotel in North Carolina on April 4 after police were called to perform a welfare check. According to Planet Transgender, the incident is being treated as a homicide but authorities have not yet announced the cause of death.
