A League of Their Own is returning to the screen in a whole new way…and we’ve got the newly released trailer to prove it! The beloved 1992 film — which starred Geena Davis, Lori Petty, Rosie O’Donnell, Tom Hanks and Madonna — has been rebooted and revamped into the highly anticipated Amazon Prime series of the same name.Created by Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham, the eight-episode series stars Jacobson herself in addition to Roberta Colindrez, D’Arcy Carden, Kate Berlant, Nick Offerman, and O’Donnell (in a role that has not been disclosed yet).Similar to the film, the series will follow the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, which formed in the mid-1940s while men were fighting in World War II. Revolutionary for its time, the league included 650 women who battled sexism and racism for the love of the game.

Donald Trump said his consultants warned him against speaking about transgender athletes during a speech on Tuesday.Trump gave the keynote address at the America First Agenda Summit, where he spoke out against the inclusion of transgender women on women's sports team.The issue has emerged as a rallying cry among many conservatives who argue trans women have an unfair advantage over their competitors. Advocates for the transgender community, however, argue that trans athletes are typically only able to compete after transitioning and that critics are using transphobic attacks against an already vulnerable community.During the speech, Trump discussed the inclusion of transgender athletes as one of many problems facing the United States, arguing it is "disrespectful to women" and "unfair" to allow trans women to play on women's sports teams."By the way, we should not allow men to play in women's sports," he said.The remark was met with loud applause from the audience, made up of Trump's conservative supporters, prompting him to add that it was "not even written down anywhere," yet it "got the biggest" applause."So crazy.

The Diocese of Green Bay, Wisconsin, released a new policy regarding LGBTQ students in its Catholic Schools that equates being transgender to being sexually abused. The Diocese, led by Bishop David Ricken, published the new gender policy last month in its Education Policy Manual for the 2022-2023 school year.The manual explains how to “restrict” participation in the Catholic education of transgender students, staff, volunteers, and ally parents.The manual contains a section titled “Catholic Principles of Human Sexuality,” which promote current Church doctrine on sexuality and gender, including the idea that there are only two sexes, that every person’s body, as created by God, cannot be altered through social transition or medical interventions, and that heterosexual marriage is the ideal relationship for raising children and continuing the propagation of the faith.The manual also compares homosexuality or “expressing a gender that is discordant with one’s biological sex” with other sinful behaviors that are viewed as reprehensible or crude among polite society, including: the use of vulgar language, “immodest dress or deportment,” masturbation, pornography, fornication, adultery, cohabitating outside of marriage, obtaining an abortion, and sexual harassment or abuse. Section 5045 of the “Education Policy Manual” mandates that trans and non-binary people be addressed as their gender at birth, rather than based on how they identify.Based on this understanding, schools are expected to refuse to allow trans-identifying children to use their preferred names or pronouns, access gender-specific facilities that do not match their assigned sex at birth, or take puberty blockers to prevent the onset of secondary sex

preliminary injunction on Tuesday to allow a trans girl in Indiana to rejoin her all-girls softball team while the case continues.The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana’s judge Jane Magnus-Stinson made the order to allow 10-year-old A.M. to play on her team after her school told her parents she could no longer be on the team following the passage of the state's anti-trans sports ban, House Enrolled Act 1041.The American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana sued the school district in April on behalf of the girl, challenging the state's ban on trans girls participating in school sports that match their gender identity.“When misinformation about biology and gender is used to bar transgender girls from school sports it amounts to the same form of sex discrimination that has long been prohibited under Title IX, a law that protects all students – including trans people – on the basis of sex,” Ken Falk, legal director of the ACLU of Indiana, said in a statement.
