Laurence David Kramer (June 25, 1935 – May 27, 2020) was an American playwright, author, film producer, public health advocate, and LGBT rights activist. He began his career rewriting scripts while working for Columbia Pictures, which led him to London where he worked with United Artists. I stopped in the middle of the aisle where gay magazines from around the world were stocked and read the first sentence that seemed to scream out from the page: "If this article doesn't scare the shit out of you, we're in real trouble.
