A trio of brand new guest judges have been announced for the upcoming second season of Drag Race Down Under. According to Entertainment Weekly, Xena: Warrior Princess star Lucy Lawless and Robert and Bindi Irwin – the children of the late zookeeper and conservationist Steve Irwin – will appear on the panel. “How could we not be involved in a show as fun and iconic as RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under?” the Irwins said in a statement. “We’re big fans and were chuffed to help kick off the new season, especially after Art Simone’s hilarious Snatch Game impersonation last year!

We can’t wait to see how all our Down Under kanga-rus go this season.” Lawless said she “absolutely loved” being involved with the new season of Drag Race Down Under and “can’t believe” she had the opportunity to sit beside regular panellists RuPaul, Michelle Visage and Rhys Nicholson. “Of course I know a thing or two about being a warrior princess but these new queens are absolutely next level,” the star added. “So fierce and so fabulous, I was in complete awe and am really looking forward to seeing how they all go!” Premiering 30 July, the new season will introduce 10 more sickening drag entertainers from Australia and New Zealand who will compete in a variety of challenges, runways and lip-sync showdowns for the title of ‘Down Under’s Next Drag Superstar’.

In a statement, RuPaul said he’s “thrilled to produce and host” a new season of the series, and that he’s “only just begun” to spotlight the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent of the drag community in Australasia.

Season one premiered last year and saw Kita Mean conquer over competitors such as Art Simone, Karen from Finance and Scarlet Adams, winning a one-year supply of Revolution Beauty
