Boyband legend looks unrecognisable as he performs in drag at Manchester Pride

Manchester Pride fans were forced to take a double take when the boyband legend stepped onto stage to perform in front of thousands of people.

The Celebrity Gogglebox star added a full face of glamorous makeup including black false lashes and glowing skin to complete the illusion that he was of the opposite sex.

But die-hard fans of Blue would be forgiven for not recognising the singer with his full chest and half sleeve of tattoos and his prominent facial hair the only clues to his true identity.Duncan James, 44, has been performing in drag at a slew of Pride events up and down the country this year as he recently spoke about how his drag persona has helped him embrace his sexuality after his lengthy coming out journey.He told The Mirror: “It has taken me a long time to feel completely comfortable.“I remember when I was in Blue the first time around, there were all these rumours I was dating my friends Geri, Martine and Tara [Palmer-Tomkinson] and I used to feel relieved.“I was playing Pride with Blue and feeling such a hypocrite because everyone was celebrating their sexuality and I was still in the closet.“Now I'm performing Blue hits and songs from musical theatre in full drag.
